This is a preliminary video showing 51 poodles rescued from the August 2009 "puppy mill" seizure in Kaufman County TX.
Workers of an animal clinic took in a homeless miniature poodle. He was so badly matted that he could barely open his mouth enough to eat. The poodle had to be anesthetized before they could cut the hair off. He turned out to be a beautiful silver color. They brought the dog to Poodle Rescue of Houston. The dog was then taken to the vet and neutered. The following week, a man arrived in a wheel chair pushed by his daughter. He had only one leg and was blind. His wife had passed away two weeks earlier and he was lonesome. He asked if he could please adopt a poodle. After determining that the man and his daughter, who lived with him, would provide a good home for the dog, the rescue volunteer selected the silver poodle for them. The dog was placed into his arms and within ten minutes, they were best friends. The family has since let Poodle Rescue of Houston know that the two have become inseparable. A stray poodle that would have otherwise gone to the pound to be euthanize now has a good home and a lonesome, blind, one-legged man has a much needed companion.
Dear Friends at the Poodle Rescue,
Just want to drop ya'll a note to tell you how wonderfully Sparky is doing in his new home with me. We hit it off from the very start, and he is
already my new best friend. I can tell that
he is very happy . . . he hops playfully around the
house, and snuggles in my lap, and LOVES to go
on walks and explore. He jumps up and down as
soon as he sees me pick up the leash. Of course I
am spoiling him rotten, letting him sleep with me
in my big bed and buying him treats at Pet Smart and such.Thank ya'll so much for bringing this dear boy into my life!

Update on Jack.
We adopted him on Friday night and he has been doing wonderfully. Thanks again as this is our
second adoption with Poodle Rescue of Houston.
Hi, we are the Villanueva family. We're a family of 5; mom, dad, 3 kids 16, 13, & 9. Last May we adopted
Sammi. He is the family spoiled baby. He is on my lap
as I am typing this trying to find him a playmate. We
will be moving to a bigger house mid April and we
want him to have a companion. My sons have really been pushing to find him a poodle friend preferably
a female. We love Sammi so much and just want him to be happy. We would like to stop by and visit to
see if we might find a suitable friend. Our questions.
Your hours of operation? Does bringing Sammi along to find a friend work best?
Are you open on the weekend? Is there any helpful
information when considering two dogs in the family? I am very very impressed how well Sammi fit
into our lifestyle and I think we can do it again. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi this is Donna Boehm I adopted the Bichon Frise and I named her Sissy. I can not remember what you called her. I wanted you to know she is doing very well, and has blended in like she has always lived her. She has had only a couple of “accidents” and is very well behaved and gets along great with her brother our other child he is 5 years old and the two have bonded and have become our KIDS, the other dog laid around all day and was getting old and lazy, since Sissy is on the place he is going non stop most of the time and they are a total mess!! Sissy is a joy and thank you for having her there for us to meet and fall in love with and to give us a chance to bring her into our family. She is my constant companion and my guardian too.
Sincerely, Donna B.
Hi,
Thanks for checking up. She is doing great!! She
seems to be improving greatly! I will send you guys
some pictures soon. She is very happy! I have taught
her to sit. I plan on teaching her to do quite a few
tricks, she is very active so she will love it. We
have named her Lilly and she now knows her name.
She is very sweet and spoiled! We love her so much!!
She loves other dogs so one day we will have to come back and get her a companion.
