Penny was the first adopted Kaufman rescue dog

Penny has gained 6 ounces since we picked her up last month.  She still gobbles down her food as if she still has to compete for a meal.  She loves her new backyard and frequently initiates run and chase me games with Nellie.     Putting her on a leash and taking her for walks the first few times was similar to participating in a goat rodeo but, within a week she realized the leash meant a change scenery and smells and that eventually, she returns to the comforts of home.  We have noticed that with a little bit of exercise, she has gained muscles in her previously very frail and not used legs.  

Folks say that Penny is a very lucky dog.  Dave and I feel that we are the lucky ones.  We took a chance in adopting an abused poodle who could have very well been a dysfunctional dog with several issues, but what we got was an affectionate, loyal pet  who brings us more joy, companioship and love than we could ever had imagined.

FLUFFY GIRL

Fluffy Girl is the same dog that is shown being groomed by Melanie in a previous video. She was adopted by the same family that found her and brought her to Poodle Rescue of Houston. Fluffy Girl lived with us at PRH for about three weeks. During that time she was groomed, received full veterinary care from our staff vet and was housed in a clean, safe and caring environment until a permanent home could be found for her. That's what we do at Poodle Rescue of Houston.
